What Else: ‘Tis the Season to toast friends & welcome the Holiday Season with bountiful hors d’oeuvres, members’ bar, and dancing to “Savannah Steve”. Meg Heap, Chatham County District Attorney, will be the speaker at this event. She will be sharing her vision and plans for a new Family Justice Center that is opening in December 2019. The Chatham County Family Justice Center is a one stop shop of services for victims of family violence including domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse and crimes against women. Frequently these victims must visit as many as ten agencies to obtain support. This facility will provide services in one location. Primary partner agencies include: Chatham County District Attorney’s Office (and Child Support), Savannah Police Department, Safe Shelter, Rape Crisis Center, Coastal Children’s Advocacy Center and Mediation Center.
