What Else:  Do you like to cook?  Do you want to help those in need at the same time?  We can use your help!  Landlovers Community Service is providing casseroles to SAFE Shelter.  This helps give the cooks at SAFE Shelter some time off.  On your assigned day, you would make any casserole you want at your home and we will deliver it to SAFE Shelter for you. You can make any kind of casserole you’d like which fits in a 9×13 pan.  We have recipes we’ve used before if you don’t know what to make.  See the link above.  You will make your casserole until the point of final baking and then put a lid on it with directions for Safe Shelter to do that final baking. We will provide you with the foil pans and lids while you donate the cost of the food ingredients. All casserole delivery dates are set for a Tuesday.  However, most folks drop off their casserole on Monday afternoon (the day before your date).  You can also coordinate a time to meet on Tuesday morning with your driver.   Please sign up for only one date.  If you sign up, you will receive an email reminder about a week before your date with information on how to get your foil pans, who your driver is, where to drop off your casserole and other relevant details. If you’d like to sign up for more than one date, please put your name and cell number on just your first choice of dates and then list yourself as a sub at the bottom of the page with your other choice of dates.   This is a first come sign up basis.  If there aren’t any slots left and you want to participate, please add your name to the Sub List so we know who to contact when there is a need.  We often need to use the sub list so please add your name if you can.

Just a reminder that this is a Landlovers Project and you need to be a Landlovers member to participate. Since 1979, SAFE Shelter has been Savannah’s only shelter dedicated to victims of intimate partner violence and their underage children.  Click here to learn more about SAFE Shelter.

No skill is required, just a caring heart.  We’d particularly like to encourage any men who have time to join us.  All are welcome, but participants must be members of Landlovers.
