What: Cooking for Charity
When: Tuesday, October 15 from 9:30am to noon
Where: Skidaway Island Methodist Church Kitchen
What Else: Like to cook? Want to help others at the same time? Come spend the morning with fellow Landlovers to assemble 30 casseroles for Safe Shelter.  This will help lighten the cooking schedule for the cooks at Safe Shelter for several nights. Space is limited.

What: Second Harvest Packing.
When: November 1 from 9-11 am.  Sign up starts immediately until meeting date.
Where: America’s Second Harvest Volunteer Center.  Meet at the Methodist Church by 8:15 to carpool leaving no later than 8:30.
What Else: Established in 1981 in Savannah, America’s Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia is a locally inspired, volunteer driven nonprofit food bank and community partnering organization.  Second Harvest serves as the food safety net for tens of thousands of children, senior citizens, low-income families, and people with disabilities who are at risk of hunger throughout Southern Georgia.  Four times a year, Landlovers Community Service gets together on a Friday morning to provide the volunteer labor to pack boxes for needy families at our local food bank. No skill is required, just a caring heart.  We’d particularly like to encourage any men who have time to join us.  All are welcome, but participants must be members of Landlovers.

What: Ronald McDonald Meals
When: Fridays at 6 pm
Where: Ronald McDonald House
What Else: Skidaway servers provides a meal for up to 30 people staying at Ronald McDonald House every Friday. Usually three couples share responsibilities and often go out to dinner afterwards.

What: Community Service Toiletry Collection
When: Our next collection dates are Nov. 3-9.
Where: Drop off will be at the Landings Welcome Center (i.e. the real estate company) at 1 Landings Way North.
What Else: Share your vacation with Social Apostolate, which works with poor, homeless and disabled people in different ways including providing showers for those in need.  Are you traveling and staying at a hotel?  If you have any unused hotel soaps, shampoos or lotions, please bring them back to Savannah.  No mouthwash or larger sized toiletries, please.
