Coastal Georgia Living
What: A Conversational History of Early Skidaway
When: February 1, First Wednesday of the month October through May, 9:30-11:30am
Where: Fellowship Hall at Messiah Lutheran Church
Program: Author Anne B. Hurley moved to Skidaway Island in 2020 and soon became interested in the very early history of the island. A series of articles in TWATL was well-received, leading to organizing and enhancing the information into book form covering prehistoric times to approximately 1750. Hear about giant sloths, feathered serpents, mission massacres, and treasure-laden Spanish galleons. This history is anything but ‘dry’.
How Much: Annual Club dues are individual or family. Must be a Landlovers member. Guests are welcome for fee.
What Else: Coastal Georgia Living, formerly known as Green Thumb Club, focuses on gardening, wildlife, and the Georgia coastal lifestyle. Our monthly meetings begin with coffee and socializing, followed by our featured speaker. Please be environmentally friendly by bringing your own coffee cup.
